Indexi are the longest-tenured Bosnian pop rock band and one of the best bands in former Yugoslavia, who topped the charts and sent audiences into a frenzy for a truly staggering period of time that lasted from 1962 until 2001. During this time, they recorded two studio albums, 27 singles, and 12 compilations, while many of their songs were never released.
Their first gig dates back all the way to the autumn of 1962 in Dom milicije in Sarajevo. When they first got together, they played mostly instrumentals and cover songs of their idols The Shadows, The Kinks, and Cliff Richards, but they soon began to write and record original songs.
Indexi played their last gig in May 2001 in Banja Luka. Their frontman and singer, Davorin Popović, passed away only a few weeks later, with band members Slobodan Bodo Kovačević, Đorđe Kisić, and Korenlije Bata Kovač passing away in the years that followed.
