Plavi orkestar, the legendary pop-rock band from former Yugoslavia, have released 8 albums, sold 5 million records, and played over 3,500 gigs across Europe!

Plavi orkestar are a legendary pop-rock band from Sarajevo. Since their founding in the early 1980’s, the band released 8 albums with numerous hit singles and cemented their status as one of the most important co-creators of Sarajevo urban culture and the Yugoslavian rock music scene. The band developed in the period of the Sarajevo ‘New Primitives’ movement, yet still kept their identity and musical style. Their hits from the 1980’s and 1990’s can still be heard on radio stations in all countries of former Yugoslavia.  

Plavi orkestar have released 8 albums, sold 5 million records, and played over 3,500 gigs across Europe and Yugoslavia. Their first performance in Slovenia was at the Novi rock festival in the 1980’s. The band played their last major gig in Slovenia in 1999 and returned to play a club venue concert in Ljubljana in 2009 after an extended hiatus. The band’s concerts in Slovenia were attended by more than one million people.

Band founder and protagonist Saša Lošić is nowadays a recognized film music composer and wrote the score for all three top-grossing Slovenian movies of all time: Outsider, Kajmak in marmelada, and Petelinji zajtrk.
